mental wellbeing Oct 26, 2023

In today's blog, I’m sharing some of my favorite books that helped me along this crazy journey with cancer. These books offered me comfort, inspiration, and helpful guidance for navigating life during and after a breast cancer diagnosis.

I hope you love these books as much as I did.

Grab a cozy spot, a cup of tea, and immerse yourself in these empowering books.

Book 1: "Dying to Be Me" by Anita Moorjani

In "Dying to Be Me," Anita Moorjani shares her remarkable near-death experience and the profound insights she gained during her encounter with death. After battling cancer, Anita's organs shut down, and she entered a state of coma. However, instead of succumbing to her illness, she had a transformative experience that shifted her understanding of life, death, and healing. This powerful memoir explores the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit, offering a fresh perspective on the nature of illness and the importance of self-love and authenticity.

We just finished this book in the Book Club of The Reset & Rise Community.

Book 2: "Radical Remission" by Kelly A. Turner

"Radical Remission" by Kelly A. Turner is a groundbreaking book that delves into the experiences of cancer patients who have achieved spontaneous, long-term remission without traditional medical treatments. Turner, a researcher in the field of integrative oncology, conducted extensive interviews and analysis to identify the commonalities among these exceptional cases. Through this work, she reveals the nine key factors that have the potential to catalyze healing, such as adopting a positive mindset, following intuition, and embracing social support. This inspiring book provides a fresh perspective on the possibilities of healing beyond conventional medicine.

Book 3: "Breasts" by Dr. Kristi Funk

In "Breasts," renowned breast surgeon Dr. Kristi Funk presents a comprehensive guide to breast health. Drawing upon her extensive experience in the field, Dr. Funk provides readers with invaluable insights into breast cancer prevention, detection, and treatment. The book covers a range of topics, including the latest research on risk factors, dietary recommendations, and lifestyle choices that can contribute to breast health. With a compassionate and informative approach, Dr. Funk empowers readers to take proactive steps in maintaining breast health and minimizing their risk of developing breast cancer.

Book 4: "Cancer Hates Tea" by Maria Uspenski

"Cancer Hates Tea" by Maria Uspenski explores the potential of tea as a powerful tool in the fight against cancer. As a tea expert and cancer survivor herself, Uspenski combines her personal story with scientific research to shed light on the healing properties of tea. This book provides an in-depth look at the various types of tea and their potential benefits, such as boosting the immune system, reducing inflammation, and aiding in detoxification. Uspenski's engaging narrative and practical advice make this book a valuable resource for anyone interested in harnessing the potential of tea for wellness and prevention.

Book 5: "Not Today Cancer" by Jen Delvaux (You know I had to plug my own ;) )

"Not Today Cancer" by Jen Delvaux is a nontypical survival guide designed specifically for individuals who want to thrive, not just survive, during their cancer journey. Delvaux, a cancer survivor herself, shares her personal experiences, offering practical tips, strategies, and emotional support to help readers navigate the challenges of a cancer diagnosis.
